The THHQB32020 is a -pole, amp, bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed for use in 120/240 VAC three-phase panelboard applications. Originally developed by General Electric (GE) as part of its THHQB (Thermal Magnetic, Bolt-On) breaker family, this model provides reliable overcurrent protection for branch circuits in commercial and light industrial settings. Following GE's acquisition by ABB, this product line has been maintained under the ABB brand, ensuring continuity of supply and ongoing support for legacy GE installations. The THHQB32020 is commonly used in GE PowerMark Gold panelboards and OEM assemblies.
Electrically, the THHQB32020 features a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism, providing dual protection: the thermal element responds to long-term overloads, while the magnetic element trips quickly under short-circuit conditions. This combination ensures that the circuit breaker protects both conductors and connected equipment from overcurrent damage. The breaker is rated for a {aic rating} interrupting capacity, which is suitable for many typical branch circuit applications. With its amp rating and -pole design, it is ideal for balanced three-phase loads like small motors, HVAC systems, and commercial lighting panels.
Mechanically, the THHQB32020 uses a bolt-on mounting style, offering secure attachment to compatible panelboard buses and ensuring stability in environments subject to vibration or maintenance. It features a standard toggle actuator with ON/OFF indication and a molded thermoset housing for dielectric strength and durability. ABB continues to produce this circuit breaker line to support the large installed base of GE panelboards across North America. Available at Electrical.com, the THHQB32020 comes backed by knowledgeable sales support, technical guidance, and fast order fulfillment for both new and retrofit applications involving GE or ABB-branded systems.
