The THQL32015 is a -pole, amp thermal-magnetic circuit breaker designed for overcurrent protection in low-voltage three-phase systems. This breaker was originally manufactured by General Electric (GE) as part of the THQL series, and is now produced by ABB, which acquired GE's Industrial Solutions division in 2018. The THQL32015 is rated for 120/240 VAC and is compatible with GE and ABB PowerMark™ load centers that accept THQL plug-in style breakers. Its -pole design allows it to provide simultaneous protection for all phases in a three-phase circuit, commonly used in light commercial and industrial branch and feeder applications.
The THQL32015 features a thermal-magnetic trip unit, which includes a bimetallic element for long-time overload protection and a magnetic coil for instantaneous short-circuit interruption. It is UL 489 listed and typically rated for a {aic rating} (Amp Interrupting Capacity), making it suitable for standard fault levels in commercial installations. The amp continuous current rating is appropriate for small three-phase motor loads, HVAC circuits, lighting systems, or subpanel feeds. The common-trip mechanism ensures all poles open simultaneously during a fault, ensuring safe disconnection of three-phase loads in accordance with NEC requirements.
Mechanically, the THQL32015 uses a plug-in mounting configuration, designed to connect directly to the bus bars of GE/ABB panelboards without tools or additional mounting hardware. It features a durable molded case with a manual toggle for ON/OFF operation and trip indication. The breaker supports standard copper or aluminum conductors sized appropriately for its amp rating (typically #14–#8 AWG), and can be installed in either new construction or retrofit scenarios. Now manufactured by ABB under the legacy GE design, the THQL32015 continues to be a trusted choice for contractors and facility managers looking for reliable, space-efficient three-pole circuit protection.
