The Cutler-Hammer/Eaton IQ DP-4000 is a microprocessor-based metering and monitoring device designed for comprehensive electrical parameter measurement and protective functions in industrial and commercial environments. This device consolidates the functions traditionally handled by separate meters and switches into a single, compact unit, offering precise RMS sensing for critical values such as phase currents, voltage (L-L, L-N), real, reactive, and apparent power, as well as energy quality metrics including real, reactive, and apparent energy, power factor, frequency, and percent total harmonic distortion (THD). Its modular architecture supports user programmability, allowing selectable CT ratios from 5:5A up to 12800:5A, and multiple power supply input options for seamless integration into various low- and medium-voltage systems, up to 500 kV with appropriate transformer interfaces.
Engineered with robust construction, the IQ DP-4000 meets UL, CSA, and CE standards and is rated for demanding environments with an operating temperature range from -25°C to 70°C and up to 95% non-condensing humidity. The front panel features a large, readable LED display and membrane faceplate that is NEMA 3R and 12 rated for enhanced durability. The device supports extensive protective and alarm functions, including overvoltage, undervoltage, phase unbalance, phase reversal, and voltage or current phase loss, all with configurable setpoints and time delays. Optional current and power demand thresholds are available, and historical data such as minimum, maximum, and present peak values for all measured quantities can be displayed or communicated remotely.
The IQ DP-4000 is notable for its adaptability to retrofit applications, offering options for flange or enclosure mounting to replace legacy systems and expand monitoring capabilities without extensive rewiring. Communication modules interface with the Cutler-Hammer PowerNet system, enabling networked data collection and system integration.
